NORTHWICH will face a familiar foe in their first competitive fixture of the new season after being paired with Altrincham Kersal in the Cheshire Vase.
Blacks, promoted as champions from South Lancs/Cheshire Division One at the end of last term, visit their North One West rivals on the final weekend in August.
They begin life at a higher level at Vale of Lune on the first Saturday in September.
Altrincham won both meetings between the sides the season before last, including a 31-21 success at Stelfox Avenue.
The men from Moss Farm exited last year’s edition at the last-eight stage following a defeat at home to eventual runners-up Crewe and Nantwich.
Holders Birkenhead Park have been paired with New Brighton.
