OULTON Park remain unbeaten in Division One following a three-wicket win at Davenham on Saturday.

The hosts were put in at Butcher’s Stile after losing the toss, and they were indebted to Stephen Bliss (50) for contributing a half-century lower down the order as they were dismissed for 131.

Andy Hards (4-33) and Guy Emmett (3-24) were the pick of the visitors’ attack.

Their batsmen struggled initially, wobbling at 30-4, before reaching their target at 135-7 thanks largely to Andy Mills’ unbeaten 41.

Ed Roberts (34) was next highest-scorer, while former Oulton captain Robin Taylor (3-49) led Davenham’s bowlers.

South African Givon Christian (2-22) and Dean Jackson (2-30) provided support.

Weaverham secured a second win of the campaign in the same section, this time at Tattenhall’s expense.

Wilden Cornwall (44) and James Lewis (43) both fell short of 50 as the Russets ran up 185-8 after losing the toss at Wallerscote Road.

Their guests appeared on course for victory at 82-2, only for the next eight wickets to fall for 54.

Rob McMillan (4-48) and Kevin Waterhouse (3-25) were helped by their side’s excellence in the field, including two run-outs.

In Division Two, Northwich bowlers had too small a total to defend during an eight-wicket reverse at home to Stockport.

They were sent back for 106 at Moss Farm after losing the toss, with Sam Stoneley – who hit five fours and a six in a quick-fire 29 – and Matthew Dufty (26) their best performers with the bat.

Adam Porter returned figures of 4-13 for the visitors, who needed only 22 overs to secure maximum points.

Tom Facer (34no) finished the job.

Middlewich’s tail-end batsmen resisted the advances of Alvanley to secure a draw at Haddon Field.

Set a target of 246 to win, they were 150-8 at stumps.

Richard Clorley (37) and captain Nick Gill (39), who added 68 runs for the fifth wicket in tandem with Stuart Price (25), chipped in with runs.

Earlier in the afternoon in-form Andy Bennion (99no off 92 balls) hit five maximums during his innings, sharing in an unbroken sixth-wicket partnership worth 161 with Chris Wright (62no).

Phil Davies (2-30 off 10 overs) was the best of Middlewich’s bowlers.
