GRANGE School and Northwich boats reached the first round of the junior quad sculls at Henley Women’s Regatta on Saturday.
Beth Willford-Dutton, Abigail Davies, Anya George and India Trigg, representing the latter, were the first crew down the course during a morning time trial.
They were later beaten by Sir William Perkins School, by more than two lengths, in the last 16.
Meanwhile Grange, with Rosie Colton, Helen Owen, Izzy Highett and Poppy Howe on duty, lost out to Surbiton High School at the same stage.
Katherine Owen and Ilona Webb, in a double, were the fastest non-qualifier from a time trial, missing out on a place in the draw by three tenths of a second.
The same fate befell Kate Blayney in a junior single.
Former Grange student Emily Ford, now at Newcastle University, was part of a composite crew with rowers from Cambridge and Bath that won the Avril Vellacott Cup for coxless fours.
