WEAVERHAM rise to third in Division One following a third straight win, this time by 20 runs at home to Bollington.

A partnership worth 80 runs for the fifth wicket, between Ryan Simm (30) and Tom Hulse (50) was a highlight of the Russets’ innings as they posted 184 all out.

Stef Bell made 34, while Joe Binder returned figures of 6-66 for the visitors.

Bolly fell short at 164, with Stuart Hayes (5-24) leading the way before Jarrod Pickering run out last man Callum Goodhind in the final over.

Davenham slipped from the table’s summit after being held to a draw at Widnes.

In a match reduced by rain to 38 overs per innings, they racked up 186-2 thanks to half-centuries from Callum Begg (92no) and Oli Gallagher (61no).

Widnes made steady progress before Tim Wearden (58) and Nathan Jones (35) were dismissed, settling afterwards for a draw at 146-5.

Northwich were well-beaten at Irby in the same section.

Following an early delay caused by rain, the Moss Farm outfit struggled to 107 all out, with Will Marston (28) and 15-year-old Jordan McDonough (25) the only batsmen to make starts.

Irby were comfortable victors, reaching their target in the 30th over with seven wickets spare.

Depleted Middlewich were hammered by 204 runs at fellow strugglers Oxton in Division One.

The hosts, for whom Eddie Filer (134no) scored a century, amassed 255-4 after winning the toss.

They then knocked over their guests for 51 after tea.
