IMPROVING Barnton made it back-to-back wins in Division A after Aidan Malley struck the winning runs off the penultimate over at Lindow on Saturday.

Chasing 205 to win, he shared in an unbeaten seventh-wicket partnership worth 44 runs with captain Matthew Morley (20no) to help the visitors to their target.

Earlier, Mark Nicholas (55) and Mike Cross (50) had added 77 for the second wicket.

The hosts posted 204-4 after winning the toss, Malley taking 3-14 before Jamie Peel (75no) and David Kendrick (99) went on to rebuild the innings.

Kingsley beat Cheadle Hulme Ladybridge by six wickets in Division B, openers Tom Hughes (48) and Lee Tasker (33) putting on a rapid 60 as they chased 131 to win.

Chris Martin and Adrian Burden (26no) finished the job.

“We were positive in difficult conditions,” said skipper Julian Holmes afterwards.

He was grateful to 15-year-old Luke Bratt (4-17) and Anthony Alderman (5-37) for adapting best to a damp surface as Cheadle were dismissed for 130.

Winnington prop up the table following a 46-run defeat at home to fellow strugglers Langley.

Stand-in skipper Stuart Moniz claimed the prize wicket of in-form Jason Hanaghan, only for Park to rue a sloppy performance in the field littered with dropped catches.

James Hanson was most successful with the ball, taking 4-56, with John Bradley (2-47) and Dan Barnes (2-20) providing support as the visitors’ innings ended on 147.

Bradley made a second half-century in as many games during Park’s failed reply, which stalled at 101 all out after the final six wickets fell at a cost of nine runs.

Winsford were on the wrong end of a 151-run reverse at pacesetters Port Sunlight in Division C.

After the hosts had raced to 225-4, the men from Knights Grange folded for 74 with only Mark Skellon (36) reaching double figures.
