HARTFORD Tennis Club hosted a series of matches at Chester Road as their South and Mid Cheshire League teams started the season’s second half.
In the ladies’ top flight, Hartford B had to work a little harder before beating Hartford C by 6-2.
It proved to be a late night on Thursday for Hartford D, who recorded a double over Division Three rivals Hartford E following a 6½-1½ victory.
Hartford A made a short trip to neighbours Cuddington A, who earned a share of the spoils with a much-changed line-up following a 4-4 draw.
The men’s A team remain tied on points with title rivals Congleton A in Division One after a whitewash of Hartford B.
They trail the defending champions on sets difference with seven matches of the campaign left.
Unbeaten Hartford G continue to impress in Division Five where, despite coming up against improving Holmes Chapel C, they ran out convincing winners after conceding only half a set.
The men’s third team were less lucky, losing 6½-1½ against a strong Nantwich A side in Division One.
Hartford had won the first meeting between the two teams back in April, but their opponents exacted revenge during a powerful performance.
In Mixed Division Two, Hartford B continue to set the pace following a 7½-½ victory over visitors Audlem.
Their quartet played consistently well throughout, with debutant Tilly Cole receiving particular plaudits for winning every set.
