A SUPERB century by Danny Gee secured for Barnton a second win of the season in Division A on Saturday.

Set a target of 201 to win by visitors Lymm, he contributed 124 – including a 101-run partnership with Gary Edwards (28) – as the home team secured maximum points at Broomsedge.

Alex Jeffs (17no) struck four boundaries to finish the job.

Captain Matthew Morley’s five-wicket haul saw off Lymm’s top order earlier in the afternoon, though a rally by Shovan Chatterjee (52) and Richard Hughes (31no) increased their total to 200-9 off 45 overs.

Oakmere could not bowl out hosts Chester County Officers in Division B, forcing them to settle for a draw.

Their opponents closed on 156-9, more than 20 runs short of their target, with Matt Norton (4-44) and Ciaran McDonnell (3-31) starring in the visitors’ attack.

Matt Dodd (40no) and Matt Norton (29) had put on 56 runs for the eighth wicket in the Northwich outfit’s innings to take their team to 181-8 after wicket-keeper James Norton (45) had contributed at the top of the order.

Kingsley claimed a maiden maximum points-haul of the season following a nine-run win at home to Winnington Park.

Skipper Julian Holmes (24) and Steve Forster (82) rebuilt the hosts’ innings after a slow start before a late cameo by Andrew Bratt (23no) took them to 182-7 by the close.

Stuart Moniz (3-32) was Park’s best bowler.

Anthony Alderman (4-15) made early inroads in Winnington’s reply before John Bradley’s run-a-ball 51 raised the visitors’ hopes.

Chris Martin (4-77) grabbed a hat-trick, but a defiant maiden half-century from Moniz (68) took his side to within a dozen runs of victory.

Teenager Harry Waring’s double-strike settled the outcome.

Winsford went down by eight wickets in Division C at Over Peover, where they were dismissed for 133 after winning the toss.

Matt Dobson (60) and Jonny Goodyer (53no), who had earlier taken five wickets, saw the hosts to their target by the 17th over.
