STUART Kellett was nominated as Cheshire’s best player after he led their men’s A team to victory against Lincolnshire at Rudheath Social Club on Sunday.

The Northwich ace’s single-dart average was 29.75 in a 4-1 success against Adam Beck.

It propels his side to the Premier Division summit with one match of the season left.

Cheshire celebrated a 24-15 victory on aggregate, including a 4-2 win for a women’s A team that included impressive solo victories for Winsford’s Andrea Hunt – against Layla Bontoft (3-1) – and Jane Stubbs from Northwich.

She whitewashed Laura Tye 3-0, averaging 21.47.

Dave Bird, also from Winsford, won his head-to-head for Cheshire men’s B against Shane Lowe (4-2).

Weaverham’s Matt Hunt, who plays for Rudheath in the Cheshire Men’s Super League, missed out against Jock Watt (2-4).

Cheshire women’s B shared six legs with their Lincolnshire counterparts on Saturday.

Bev Martin, from Winsford, was a narrow 3-2 victor against Lindsey Wingell, while Heidi Williams (Winsford) lost by the same score against Dawn Barnard.

Cheshire, who complete the season at Cambridgeshire next month, occupy fifth place in the overall standings across four categories (men’s A and B, plus women’s A and B).
