Daisy Hill 2 Barnton 1
BARNTON must rely on results going in their favour if they are to reach the North West Counties League Division One play-offs after a defeat at Daisy Hill on Saturday.
Front man Shaun Tuck was sent off in the first half for the visitors, but Joseph Fielding’s goal put them in front before the hosts scored twice in the closing stages.
It leaves Leon Knight’s men sitting fifth in the table with one match left, at home to Widnes this weekend, but they will drop out of the top six if Chadderton and Holker Old Boys collect maximum points from games in hand.
Tuck had a goal ruled out, then was involved in an altercation with an opposition player which resulted in both being shown a red card.
Fielding’s corner evaded everyone to give Barnton the lead, but goals from Elliot Hailwood and Daniel Gregory settled a close contest.
