ADAM Warlow helped himself to five goals as Witton trounced 10-man Whitby.

The teenager took his tally to 25 for the season as Jim Vince's men saw off another promotion rival in ruthless fashion.

Mike Moseley and Mark Peers were also on target.

The highest league crowd of the campaign at the Britannia Carpets Stadium were treated to a scintillating display by the home team.

Until they got two consolation strikes in the final 20 minutes, could only show three corner kicks to their credit.

Witton hit the front inside five minutes.

Steve Connors' through ball squirted into Warlow's path and intercepted he ran on to round keeper Jack Norton before planting the ball into the net.

Rob Lloyd then saw his shot flash across the face of the goal before Norton pulled off a good save when he pushed Alex Brown's shot onto the upright.

Five minutes later though a superb pass from Lloyd arrived at Mark Peers' feet, and he whipped in a cross that reached Warlow at the far post to crisply convert.

The next move then saw Danny Farthing suitably placed on his goal-line but not really knowing too much about it to deny Moseley following a smart cross from Warlow.

A minute later Town had Graham Robinson red carded (he'd received a caution eight minutes earlier) for kicking Connors right in front of the referee.

Albion went 3-0 soon afterwards when Warlow headed home Tom Spearritt's cross to complete his treble.

Three minutes after the break they scored again.

Liam Brownhill's dazzling diagonal run saw him clip the ball across for Warlow to bag his and Witton's fourth goal.

Five minutes later Peers, with the visitors' defenders totally mesmerized, lashed the ball into the roof of the net.

The happy Wittoners had to wait another 10 minutes before it was six.

Substitute Dorryl Proffitt got into good position in the area but missed, only for Warlos to finish clinically.

Albion then took their feet off the accelerator and following a clumsy challenge by Proffitt on James Drinkall, Danny Brunskill converted from the spot.

The same player then capitalised on slack defending when he fired past Jon Kennedy eight minutes later.

Mike Moseley completed the scoring on 83 minutes following a fine through ball by Ross Clegg and a lay-off from Proffitt.

There was still time left though for Norton deny Brownhill before Tony Barras saw his effort cannon against the woodwork.
