Winnington Park 2 Lancaster & Morecambe 2
WINNINGTON Park further boosted their chances of avoiding relegation after picking up a precious point against high-flying Lancaster and Morecambe.
The hosts, without talisman Pete Evans, recovered from two goals down at Moss Farm thanks to strikes from Paul Stackhouse and Dave Thompson.
Former Park regular Mike Sambell played a key part during the visitors’ purple patch early on, creating their first goal and scoring the second.
But the Northwich outfit fought back, Oli Wilkes and Dan Hilton both going close before Stackhouse saw a penalty stroke saved.
However he reduced their arrears in the second half from another penalty flick.
Thompson converted at the back post with eight minutes left follow-ing fine work from Stackhouse.
