Match pointers

WITTON’S incentive to win this Cheshire derby is to climb from the table’s bottom four.

A 1-1 draw at Ilkeston last weekend left them two points adrift of Nantwich, who recorded the same result at home to play-offs hopefuls Buxton.

Albion, victors in two of their past three Premier Division matches at Wincham Park, are able to call again on Joe Shaw after he missed Saturday’s tie with the Robins.

Front man Alex Titchiner and goalkeeper Dean Porter are both available too.

Only back-markers Belper have conceded more goals this season in front of their own fans, with Witton capable only of shutting out a guest twice in 11 attempts on home turf this term.

Nantwich are unbeaten in their past three league matches – their longest sequence without losing this season.

Before that they had lost eight of the previous nine.

Manager Danny Johnson will be forced to make at least one change to the side that tied with the Bucks after defender John Disney was recalled from a loan spell by parent club Chester.

Shaun Dowling stands by.

Leading scorer Aaron Burns bagged a brace for the Dabbers when they lost last season’s corresponding fixture. He also hit the net for former club Marine when they lost 3-1 at Wincham Park earlier this term.
