Match pointers

WITTON will attempt to climb from the relegation zone when they visit promotion hopefuls Ilkeston.

Albion are within three points of four teams above them in the table after winning three of their past five league games, though they have lost nine of their past 10 away fixtures.

They did though shut out Buxton during a 3-0 win at Silverlands last month.

Manager Tony Sullivan hopes striker Alex Titchiner will be fit to play after sitting out last Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at home to Workington.

Goalkeeper Ryan Swift is suspended.

Hosts Ilkeston have won eight successive matches in league and cup, six of their past seven in the Premier Division.

Kevin Wilson’s men have scored in every home game this term and their goals tally at the New Manor Ground – 27 – is the highest in the Northern Premier League’s top flight.

They have also won five of six head-to-heads in front of their own fans against teams from the table’s bottom half.

The form of attacker Kane Richards has been rewarded with a move to Vanarama Conference club Chester this week, while former Winsford captain Jack Lane – who scored a wonder goal when the teams met at Wincham Park on the season’s opening day – is unavailable.

Akil Wright stands by, while Michael Williams is an alternative to Richards in attack.
