Match pointers

WITTON attempt to win back-to-back matches for the first time since the start of September when Premier Division rivals Workington visit in the FA Trophy.

Albion have won two of three matches played in November, including a single-goal success at Sheffield in the previous round.

Manager Tony Sullivan will be buoyed too by seeing front men Alex Titchiner, Jamie Rainford and Jamie Hender score in Tuesday’s 4-1 victory against Kidsgrove in the Doodson Sport Cup.

Newcomer Dean Porter (groin) may have to wait a little longer to make his debut in goal, leaving teenager Ryan Swift to deputise once again.

Witton have already won beaten Workington this term, returning from Cumbria as 2-1 victors in August.

Of the side that started that match, five are no longer at the club.

In-form Reds have won five of their past six matches in all competitions, including a 3-0 defeat of Skelmersdale in the league cup in midweek.

However Gavin Skelton’s men have scored fewest goals of any Premier Division side away from home this season, registering only six in nine league trips.

They have failed to score in five of those.

Gari Rowntree serves a ban, while Stephen Hindmarch and Kyle May will both be missing too.
