Winnington Park boost survival hopes after recording back-to-back wins in Cheshire League

Barnton’s batsmen struggled to adapt to a damp track at Chelford, losing by five wickets after being bowled out for 139.

Dan Gilbert took 3-27 from 10 overs in Chelford’s reply, but the hosts eased to their target with 16 overs to spare.

Kingsley’s last-wicket pair of Peter Pearce and Adrian Burden occupied the crease for long enough to earn a draw at home to promotion hopefuls Woodford.

The visitors, chasing 150 to win, closed on 110-9 after Owen Rowlands (33) and Steve Kitchen (25) had bolstered their tally in the lower order.

Pearce (3-36) and Burden (3-50) had been most successful for Kingsley with the ball while Callum Begg claimed the prize wicket of Ryan Williamson (64).

Winsford slumped to a 112-run defeat at home to Pott Shrigley in Division Three, collapsing to 43 all out in reply to their guests’ 155-9.
