GRANGE School Rowing Club’s Scott Ozsanlav-Harris represented Great Britain during the weekend’s annual Coupe de la Jeunesse regatta in France.

He was part of a junior men’s quad, coached by Grange’s Matt Jump, that placed second in a B final on Saturday after finishing fifth in the morning’s first heat.

The same crew were fourth in Sunday’s B final at the international event, for under 18s, after classifying in the same position during a qualifier earlier the same day.

Meanwhile former Grange students won a gold medal at the European Universities Games in Rotterdam.

Tom Ford, part of Great Britain’s squad for last month’s World Under 23s Championships, helped Newcastle University Boat Club’s men’s four to victory in Holland.

They narrowly missed out on a medal in the eight.

Younger sister Emily, also in Newcastle’s colours, was part of a women’s eight that held off the challenge of a Dutch crew to claim gold.

She joined forces with Nicole Lamb to collect a bronze medal in the women’s pair.
