WITTON Albion have announced the club’s shirt sponsor for the new season will be Travel Intelligence Network (TIN), a company run by chairman Mark Harris.

The firm replaces Sock Shop, the Northern Premier League outfit’s principal backers for the previous two campaigns.

To reflect the change, Albion’s away strip will switch from yellow to orange.

“It’s the first time we’ve done any brand-building since starting out in 2005,” said Harris.

“We don’t expect necessarily to generate new business, but as I’m known in the corporate travel world for my work in football it seems the right moment to do this.”

Witton’s home kit, manufactured by Joma, will retain its traditional red and white-striped shirts with blue shorts.

The deal with TIN, which helps business travel and hospitality suppliers to market themselves effectively, is initially for one season.

Harris said: “The agreement could be extended.

“However if another local company wanted to be shirt sponsor, I will stand aside and help the club in another way.”

The club plans to sell replica shirts from next month.
