A TILT at golfing glory awaits amateur Paul Underwood and his Hartford professional Adam Powell as they bid to reach the Lombard Trophy grand final.

He won a chance to tread the fairways at Scottish course Gleneagles after winning a club qualifying competition with a nett score of 68.

The duo advance to a regional play-off at Dunham Forest, where they compete against up to 70 other clubs for one of 16 spots up for grabs.

I've only ever played golf a few times.

It's a very expensive hobby, I lost a pair of balls on each occasion.

Golf balls don't grow on trees.
