BARNTON ended a sequence of three draws in style on Saturday at Lymm, where they celebrated a crushing 126-run success.

The visitors, put into bat, totalled 189-5 with Paul Coot (51) and Adam Garrod (73) adding more than 100 to the tally for the second wicket before the former’s dismissal.

Pat Flanagan (41 from 36 balls) put on 73 with Garrod before the innings ended.

Dan Gilbert struck early in Lymm’s reply, helped by Ben Wingfield’s fine catch at second slip, adding a second victim soon afterwards.

Once Neil Langham (4-22 from 10 overs) broke through at the other end, meaning four wickets fell at a cost of half a dozen runs, there was only one likely winner.

Gilbert finished with 6-31 as the hosts tumbled to 63 all out.

Winnington Park lost for the first time in June, losing to hosts Chelford by six wickets.

The Northwich side succumbed for 96 after batting first.

Kingsley went down by 87 runs to Bunbury, who dismissed their guests for 116 as they chased 204 to win.

Oakmere, without a win since the first Saturday in May, lost heavily – by 88 runs – at Prestbury in Division One.

Tom Livesley (75) and Dominic Asquith (43) led the way for the home team as they reached 203-5 off 45 overs.

Oakmere’s reply ended on 115, with James Norton (26no) and Jon Owen (25) putting on 52 runs for the final wicket before the latter was dismissed by Matthew Gray (3-30).
