WHARTON Cons A took over at the top of the Premier League following a resounding win at struggling Owley Wood A in the latest round.
Their advantage of champions Castle Private A, beaten for only the second time this season at Hop Pole, is a slender one at eight chalks.
There were no other away victories in the division, with Shavington’s total of 230 against Winsford Cons A the highest.
Crewe PO’s lead at the Section One summit is worth more than 100 points after they won at Winsford Cons B.
Third-placed Beech Tree A have won eight of their 10 matches, but are still close to 200 marks adrift.
Alsager continue to dominate in Section Two, winning emphatically this week at Hartford A.
Closest rivals Spinner & Bergamot squeezed past Middlewich RBL by a single chalks, the same margin of victory for Moulton RBL A at Castle Private C.
Rudheath B and Hazel Pear A both reached 242 in wins, the latter beating their guests Cuddington A by 93.
Frodsham Red Lion D posted 234 against Limes in Section Three, while Crosstown B won away at rock-bottom Crowton.
Winnington A rise to first place as a reward for beating previous leaders Coppenhall WMC at the Rec, while Rudheath C improved their position following a success at Tarporley RBL A.
In Section Four, Davenham B continue to lead the way after beating Comberbach C.
Moulton RBL B were the week’s best winners, dropping only two chalks at home to Davenham C.
Barnton CC B’s hopes of being promoted were hit after they lost surprisingly at home to Winsford Cons C.
Rudheath D top-scored in Section Five, with Tarporley RBL B on the receiving end, while leaders Barnton CC C won at Spinner & Bergamot B.
Meanwhile Beech Tree B, at Davenham D, were also victors away from their own green.
