The Winsford outfit posted 241, leaving them 30 chalks adrift of champions Castle Private A.

Beaten for the first time this term by Comberbach A last week, the pacesetters returned to winning ways at home to Frodsham Red Lion A.

Comberbach A lost on the road too, at Hop Pole.

Crewe PO, another side to receive a first blemish on their results record seven days earlier, dropped only seven chalks in an emphatic success against Crosstown A in Section One.

There were home victories too for Comberbach B, Davenham A and Frodsham Red Lion C.

In Section Two, Wharton Cons C improved their position in the table following a 96-point defeat of Rudheath B – who started the contest in third place.

Alsager Institute have the highest average, with 100 chalks the difference between their total and that of guests Spinner & Bergamot A on Friday.

The leading trio in Section Three are separated by 11 chalks.

Coppenhall WMC, conquerors of Tarporley RBL A, lead the way with Limes and Winnington A – who scored 213 at Lostock Greylams only to lose – close behind.

Rudheath C did a demolition job on Crowton, who returned a single winner at the Middlewich Road green.

Davenham B lost at Winsford Cons C in Section Four, but hang on to top spot.

Barnton CC B, beaten at Meadowbank B, and Comberbach C are at the head of the chasing pack.

Delamere recorded an away victory, by 52 chalks, at Winnington B.

Neighbours Beech Tree B and Barnton CC C occupy the promotion places, for now, in Section Five after home victories against Rudheath D and Lostock respectively.

Cuddington B, in fifth place, toasted success away from home at Tarporley RBL B.
