FAMILIAR faces from the Mid-Cheshire Bowling Association are among the pretenders for the winner’s share of a £2,400 prize fund in the Rudheath Spring Open final, which takes place this Saturday.

Castle Private quartet Jason Cornes, Steve Curbishley, Paul Mackie and Rob Winnington will be part of a 16-strong field at the Middlewich Road venue, joined by Tom Vickers (Wharton Cons).

Cornes has been paired with Winnington in the draw, guaranteeing at least one Northwich bowler will feature in the quarter finals.

Defending champion Callum Wraight, from Shrewsbury, will be first on the green against Congleton’s Lee Dale at 5.30pm.

Entry is free for spectators, with the victor set to pocket £600 as a reward for victory as well as taking home the silver trophy.
