OLYMPIC hero Beth Tweddle has launched a recreational gymnastics programme to inspire youngsters in Winsford.
The three-time World Champion showcased her Gym Stars programme at the town’s Lifestyle Centre on Saturday, an initiative that hopes to encourage pre-school children to become involved in gymnastics.
The classes will take place every Wednesday.
“My passion has and always will be gymnastics,” said Tweddle, who retired from the sport last year.
“I am really excited to be able to bring gymnastics back to my hometown area and offer the chance to young children to have a go at gymnastics on their doorstep.
“They might love it or they might hate it but, for me, the main thing is that they have given it a try.”
Paula Jamieson, business development manager for Brio Leisure, said: “It’s a great opportunity for youngsters to get involved in gymnastics.”
The first classes in Winsford are this week.
