NICK Guest inspired Oakmere to a first win of the campaign in the TACS Partnership Cheshire League top flight at Hale Barns on Saturday afternoon.
He brought the home team’s innings to an end with a hat-trick, returning figures of 5-8 as the Northwich outfit were set a target of 121 to win.
Mike Cushion (3-40) played a supporting role, while Pete Hutchinson held on to three catches at slip.
The visitors limped to 54-3 off 18 overs in reply before captain Sam Catling (41no) made sure of a merited six-wicket victory with Guest (24no) at the crease with him.
After back-to-back wins, Barnton crashed to a heavy 98-run reverse at Woodford in Division Two.
Ryan Willliamson (59) scored a half-century for the hosts, including a 69-run partnership with Ben Walker (25) before an unbeaten stand worth 78 for the sixth wicket took them to 200-5.
Adam Garrod (2-28) and Neil Langham (2-35) shared the wickets.
Barnton started confidently in reply, with Paul Coot (53) leading the way.
However only Pat Flannagan followed him to double figures as Chris Clarke (5-16) and Paul Owen (3-10) ripped through the order to dismiss the visitors for 102.
Winnington’s batsmen, in particular wicket-keeper Greg McKeown (63), held out for a draw against Lymm at the Rec.
They closed on 144-8 in reply to the Warrington outfit’s 247-7 declared, during which skipper Travis Scholes made 88.
James Hendry (4-12) and James Woolley (3-73) were the only bowlers to take a wicket for the hosts.
Kingsley drew against Disley at the Croft, where the visitors totalled 188-6 before declaring with Steve Kitchen (2-32) the pick of the home team’s attack.
Aussie Travis Martin (47no) and captain Peter Pearce frustrated the away team in reply, earning their side a smaller share of the spoils at 101-8.
In Division Three, Winsford eased to a six-wicket win at home to Cheadle Hulme Ladybridge after dismissing their guests for 91.
Craig Webb and Mark Dean claimed four victims each before the former then contributed 32 to a successful reply.
