Match pointers
FORMBY and 1874 Northwich, level on points in the North West Counties League’s Division One, meet in a contest will likely decide who is promoted.

The Squirrels, victors against Hanley Town after a penalty shootout in the Division One Challenge Cup final on Thursday, have won every league match played at Victoria Park since the turn of the year – a sequence of eight victories.

Ashton Town, in October, were the last team to leave with maximum points.

The hosts have won two of their three meetings with Ian Street’s men this term too, though they did lose the most recent head-to-head at Widnes in February.

A 4-2 defeat in the league at Rochdale Town last week ended a record-breaking run of 21 matches without defeat.

Victors in each of their past five league fixtures away from Barton Stadium, Northwich have amassed more points on their travels than from home games.

They are unbeaten too in Division One during 2014, winning nine of 10 matches played.

The visitors will have Lee Duckworth available again after he missed Wednesday’s 1-0 victory against Leek CSOB due to having work commitments.

Rick Bailey hopes to shake off a virus in time to play too.
