VALE Royal Athletics Club marked another record-breaking day at the weekend during the National Road Relays Championship.
Their women’s team, consisting of Kate Moulds, Amelia Pettitt, Jade Evans, Emma Pyatt, Emma Cox and Tessa McCormick, placed 16th overall – the Knights Grange-based outfit’s best result at the event.
They were fifth ranked of clubs from the north of England.
“It was a truly remarkable performance,” said team manager Colin Rathbone.
“Some of the girls flew out to Portugal early the following morning for warm weather track training, so the result is a reward for their commitment.”
