RUDHEATH, already sure of winning the Northwich and District League title, can secure a first double since 2010 if they beat The Elms tonight, Wednesday.

They meet in the Team Knockout final at Gladstone, where the eight-time previous victors start as favourites after coming out on top in both the teams’ encounters, including a whitewash, in Division One this season.

Meanwhile at Rudheath, Gladstone C take on Barn Owl C in the Supplementary Shield final.

In the league, The Lion pinched the second promotion place behind Chapels in Division Three after a slender home success against Beech Tree A during a dramatic final round.

Blue Barrel were expected to finish as runners-up, only to lose heavily at lowly Davenham.

Barn Owl E’s hopes were dashed by the newly crowned champions, losing a close game 4-3.

Newcomers Gladstone C lost their final match in Division One at Green Dragon A, where Adam Griffiths’ third maximum of the campaign for the visitors was a consolation.

They still secured the runners-up spot ahead of Gladstone B, victors by the odd frame at The Elms.

Owley Wood A whitewashed Barn Owl D, with Darryl Fallows’ 8-ball break a highlight.

Barn Owl B end the season in a relegation position after a 5-2 reverse at home to Bowling Green B.

Castle Private lost to champions Hartford B in Division Two but are still promoted to the top flight, just.

Closest rivals Greenbank A thrashed Wheatsheaf, only to miss out on second place by a single point.
