HARTFORD B made sure they will win Northwich and District League’s Division Two title following a victory on Wednesday.

Steven Taylor’s maximum break was a highlight of their success against Bowling Green B, securing a return to the top flight after a season away.

Castle Private are favourites to join them, but must win their remaining match – against Hartford B – to guarantee second spot.

Greenbank A, victors at Witton Chimes this week, could pinch the place if the newly crowned champions do them a favour.

Rudheath, already certain of finishing first in Division One, ended the campaign by beating Barn Owl B.

The Barnton outfit now need to win at least six frames in their final fixture to stand a chance of avoiding relegation after Bowling Green A conquered Gladstone A.

Gladstone C will finish as runners-up in their debut season after squeezing past Owley Wood A by the odd frame. Danny Lloyd potted eight balls from a single visit for the Weaverham outfit.

Gladstone B must settle for third spot after a comfortable win at home to Green Dragon A. Barn Owl C remain in fourth position following a 5-2 success at The Elms.

Chapels will be promoted as Division Three champions following their latest win, at Beech Tree B’s expense.

Four points separate three teams battling to finish second behind them.

The Lion occupy the promotion position entering the season’s final round, with Blue Barrel a point adrift following a slender home success against fourth-placed Barn Owl E on Wednesday.

The Barnton outfit are outsiders, but could overtake their rivals if they win heavily in their remaining match.
