GRANGE School’s Katie Gerrard was among the outstanding performers in Cheshire’s team during Saturday’s English Schools’ National Cross Country Championships.

She was the first to finish in county colours in the senior girls’ age class, claiming 17th at the end of a race against older runners at Donington Park.

Jacob Brown, a teammate of Gerrard’s at Vale Royal Athletics Club and a pupil at Brine Leas School in Nantwich, was first counter for the inter boys’ team after crossing the line in 27th place.
