CHAMPION Darryl Fallows is on course to play the same opponent as last year in the Northwich and District League’s Division One singles final.

He has avoided having to play Rudheath’s Fred Backhouse in the semi finals, with the duo paired with last four debutants Matty Fallows and Leigh Cobley, the latter a conqueror of 2005 winner Steve Moores.

Division Two title favourites Hartford B supplied half of the quarter finals line-up for their section, but none went through.

Instead Lee Savage (Castle Private), Martyn Raistrick (Hartford A), Nigel Massey (Greenbank) and Greg Simpson (Bowling Green) contest the semi finals later this month.

Holder Daniel Moore, from The Lion, took a tumble at the quarter finals stage against Darren Campbell (Chapels) in Division Three.

Steve James (Barn Owl E), Sam Littler (Beech Tree A) and Darren Walton (Davenham) progressed too.
