Lymm Ladies 6 Winnington Park Ladies 3
WINNINGTON Park’s run of victories ended at promotion hopefuls Lymm, but the leaders were made to work for their win.
The Northwich side rallied after conceding twice during the early exchanges, recovering to lead at the break thanks to goals from Helen Cartin, captain Eileen Miller and Karen Morgan’s penalty stroke.
Lymm found a way past Park’s defence three times in a feisty second half, though goalkeeper Helen Hogben made a string of saves to prevent them scoring more often.
Winnington’s seconds improved their chances of avoiding relegation from the Cheshire League’s fourth tier after a 3-0 home win against Chester fourths.
Sam Waite converted following a short corner before Maz Rose doubled the hosts’ lead from a similar move.
Star turn Jasmine Barlow then supplied a pass for Hannah Fielding to put the game beyond the visitors later on.
