HOCKEY: Boys fall short
WINNINGTON Park’s under 16s bowed out of the England National Championships at the initial group stage without winning a match.
They closed their campaign with a 7-3 defeat at Neston South Wirral following a 7-2 reverse seven days earlier in a rearranged encounter with Oxton.
Jack Smith’s super strike, plus a goal from Oli Gallagher, provided consolation in that contest.
