GOLF: Matchplay shot
AN amateur from Winsford heads to Portugal next week to compete in a national final.
Carl Greenwood’s victory last year at Macdonald Portal Hotel, in Tarporley, earned him a place in the HowDidiDO National Matchplay Championship Grand final, which starts Monday week.
The eight-handicapper, a member at Wychwood Park near Crewe, will take on rivals at the Algarve’s Quinta do Lago resort.
