GREG Lumsden hit the net four times for Cuddington reserves as they squeezed into the Crewe and East Cheshire Inter-League Cup last eight on Saturday.
The men from Norley Road edged Bull’s Head by the odd strike in 11 after a contest in which the Poynton outfit had led three times as well as recovering from two-goals adrift to lead 5-4.
Stefan Bell levelled, before Joe Clarke broke the visitors’ hearts by claiming the winner.
Barnton Wanderers reserves’ Nathan Lang claimed five of his team’s eight strikes as they progressed at the expense of guests Prestbury after extra time.
The teams shared eight goals in normal time before the Northwich-based hosts notched four more in the added half hour.
Prestbury’s Dec Fletcher followed his hat-trick against Sandbach Town in the previous round with another treble.
Elsewhere, Winnington lost 6-0 at home to Wilmslow Town.
Ben Mellor bagged a brace for the away team, with further goals from Danny Cooke, Scott McGowan, Stuart Maylett and Joe Knight sealing a comfortable victory.
Club AZ are through to the last eight too after sending out their hosts AFC Alsager thanks to goals from Scott Meszaros and Steffen Backer.
