AFTER improved performances since the turn of the year, Winnington Park target a first double of the season when Hoylake visit Burrows Hill this weekend.
Harry Stubbs’ men, 13-8 victors against the Wirral outfit when they met in October, kick off Saturday’s return match just three points – and a single position – better off in the table.
Neither side played this week.
“We’ve had a week off to rest up,” said Stubbs.
“The break arrived at a good time, giving us a chance to get everybody back fit again for what is always a close encounter.”
His side has an added incentive to win on Saturday, for their guests have beaten Park on home turf on each of their previous two visits.
Indeed, Winnington were last victors in a league encounter at Burrows Hill against Hoylake more than three years ago.
