HOLDERS Rudheath Social will launch the defence of their Mid Cheshire District FA Challenge Cup crown at home to Barnton Wanderers reserves next month.
The Cheshire League high-fliers got their hands on the trophy after overturning a two-goal deficit to beat Barnton in last year’s final.
Currently fifth in the standings, they will be favourites to progress on their own pitch at the expense of opponents that occupied third place in the qualifying group stage.
Cuddington, unbeaten in the preliminary round and victors in eight of nine matches played in the Crewe and District League this season, have been paired with Barnton.
Those two meet at Town Field.
Elsewhere Middlewich – eight times former winners – entertain Barnton Wanderers.
Barnton reserves visit Lostock Gralam, runners-up in two of the past four editions.
