SPEEDWORKS Motorsport, based in Northwich, have prepared a car to take part in the ninth annual Dunlop 24H Dubai race later this week.
Team principal Christian Dick and Knutsford businessman Tony Hughes, whose family firm is one of the Cheshire outfit’s principal backers, will pilot a Ginetta G50 at one of the most prestigious venues on the endurance racing calendar.
“It’s a racing first for us, but an exciting one with it,” said Dick.
“We’re both mega keen to get out there and be part of it, and hopefully do well while we are.”
They will be behind the wheel of an upgraded G50 driven by Hughes for three seasons in the Ginetta G50 Cup before he switched to the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship with Speedworks in 2011.
The race starts tonight and finishes on Saturday.
