THE Lion, based in Moulton, hope to cause an upset when they host Division One pacesetters Rudheath in the Team Knockout last 16 tonight, Wednesday.

They are one of three teams from the third tier with hopes of toppling a rival from the highest level, though the others will not have home advantage.

Green Dragon B visit Owley Wood A, who have lost two of their past three league encounters, while Nectar’s travel to Barnton where Barn Owl D await.

Elsewhere, Division Two leaders Hartford B will fancy their chances of sending out top flight outfit Green Dragon A.

Clubmates Hartford A, fourth in the table, have a more difficult challenge against Gladstone B.

In Weaverham, Owley Wood B take on Owley Wood C in a repeat of a league encounter played earlier this month.

Elsewhere, struggling Elms hope to set aside their troubles in Division One by beating section rivals Gladstone A.

The Supplementary Shield, a consolation competition for sides beaten in the Team Knockout preliminary round, starts tonight, Wednesday, too.

Gladstone C, who host Barn Owl B, are the highest-ranked outfit taking part.
