STEWART Colclough’s century put Pockets C on course to a comfortable win over neighbours Winsford Cons A as the Mid Cheshire League season reached halfway.

Premier Division table-toppers Owley Wood A eased to victory at the expense of third-placed Middlewich Legion D.

Elsewhere Castle Private beat rock-bottom Middlewich Legion B, while Riley’s replicated that result winning at Middlewich Legion A.

Pockets A lost to second-placed Wharton Cons D in Division One, helped by Aaron Higgins’ run of 48.

Pacesetters Castle Private B edged Owley Wood B by the odd frame, while strugglers Winnington C celebrated a narrow win over Cygnet.

Winnington A’s march to the title in Division Two continued with a 6-1 win over Victoria D, while Winnington D emerged as victors from the battle of the bottom teams against Victoria B.

Cosey and Moulton proved too strong for Pockets D and Wharton Cons B respectively, both winning 5-2.

Wharton Cons C whitewashed back-markers Victoria C in Division Three, while Meadowbank B conceded only a single frame to clubmates Meadobank A.

Castle Private D lost to Owley Wood C in the other match played.
