1874 NORTHWICH have a return to first place in the Division One table as an incentive to complete a league double over Rochdale tomorrow, Saturday.
An unbeaten run through October – four wins and a draw in all competitions – earned manager Ian Street the manager of the month award for the section, an honour he believes does not carry a curse.
He is without attacker Tom Peers this weekend, who is part of Cheshire’s squad for their trip to Birmingham in the FA County Youth Cup second round.
Dean McGregor (knee) continues to nurse a knee injury, as does Craig Farnworth.
New recruit Liam Newman, while short of match practice, is likely to be part of the group for the trip.
The visitors have won six successive league games away from Barton Stadium, picking up more points on their travels this term than any other club.
Hosts Rochdale are improving, avoiding defeat in Division One since September 14.
They have won two of three games played at Mayfield Sports Centre this term, and were unlucky to lose 2-1 at 1874 Northwich in August after leading at half time.
Last Saturday, they sent out Holker Old Boys in the North West Counties League Challenge Cup second round.
