WEAVER Valley Cycling Club’s Dave Fearon timed 1:53.28 in Manchester Wheelers’ 50 on Saturday.
His wife, Caroline, lowered her personal best in the same race after clocking 2:19.07.
Another Weaver Valley rider, Alistair Stanway, excelled too as he completed the course in 1:57.05, while Adrian Topham (High Wycombe CC) took first prize in 1:39.50 – with a 30.05mph average.
Kevan and Eleanor Underhill entered the annual Three Peaks Cyclo-Cross, which attracted a 600-strong field to scale Ingleborough, Whernside and Pen-Y-Ghent in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
It consists of 38 miles, and 5,000ft of climbing.
Kevan, competing in the men’s over 50s category, completed the course in 4:42.24. Rob Jebb (Hope Factory Racing) was first in 3:05.14.
Eleanor reached two-thirds distance, but missed the cut to ride up Pen-Y-Ghent.
