1874 Northwich announce Bring A Mate initiative for visit of Formby in Division One encounter
1874 NORTHWICH hope a bumper crowd can help Ian Street’s men to extend their wins sequence to eight matches when Formby visit later this afternoon.
Following the suggestion of supporter Phil Burgess, the club is promoting a Bring A Mate initiative to encourage followers to come to the game with somebody that hasn’t been before.
“We’ve noticed more and more old faces are turning up to have a look at what we’re up to,” said chairman Paul Stockton.
“Hopefully some more will come this Saturday, and like what they see.”
As an incentive, every supporter that comes through the turnstile will be entered for free into a raffle to win one of two shirts worn by 1874 Northwich players for the club’s inaugural friendly match against Lostock Gralam in July.
Defender Danny Thomas will also be presented with a prize as a reward for being nominated as the North West Counties League Division One player of the month for September.
Recent recruit from Droylsden, attacker Matthew Ward, makes his home debut for 1874 Northwich against opponents who have yet to lose on their travels in the league this term.
Formby will arrive in Winsford 15 points adrift of their hosts, but with four games in hand.
Admission is £5 for adults, while concessions pay £3. Under 12s watch for free.
Kick off is at 3pm.
