Barton Stadium defibrillator to benefit Winsford United and 1874 Northwich
WINSFORD United have received a lifesaving piece of equipment that is set to benefit the whole community at the Barton Stadium.
A defibrillator, purchased through the FA scheme in partnership with the British Heart Foundation and NWCFL, will be available for all at the club including Winsford United Ladies, Colts and 1874 Northwich.
“We hope we will never have to use it,” said club secretary Bob Astles.
“But now we know if anything happens we don’t have to just sit around and wait for an ambulance. We could take immediate action with this.”
Colts manager Ray Duckworth and sports therapist Steve Foden attended a familiarisation course and the machine was then presented before the FA Vase win over Pontefract Collieries.
The machine is designed so that even those with basic first aid knowledge are able to use it in an emergency.
