Match pointers
WITTON Albion bid to reach the Cheshire FA Senior Cup final for the first time since 2006 when they visit higher-ranked Chester FC tonight, Wednesday.

The visitors are in form too, protecting an eight match unbeaten run in all competitions.

Manager Brian Pritchard has hinted at changes to the team that overturned a two-goal deficit to beat Worksop Town on Saturday, with full back Mathew Wood (ankle) a major doubt.

Top scorer Shaun Tuck, who netted the decisive goal against the Tigers, is pushing for a return to the starting line-up, as is Joe Shaw after a successful substitute cameo.

Midfielder Michael Powell returns to the club that he helped to successive promotions in the past two seasons.

Hosts Chester may recall Wes Baynes after he missed Saturday’s win at Harrogate Town, while Martin Fearon is expected to start between the posts.

They have won three matches – against Cheadle, Stockport Sports and Tranmere – to reach this stage.

Neil Young’s men are also unbeaten in their past 25 Blue Square Bet North games, a sequence stretching back to September 15, to establish a 16-point lead at the summit.

Their last defeat was against Worksop though, in the FA Trophy.
