Match pointers
AFTER last week’s defeat at play-offs rivals Marine, Witton face next table-toppers North Ferriby United.

They could do with a win too, for the current four-match sequence is their longest this season without one.

Brian Pritchard’s men have only one victory from their past six Premier Division encounters, but still they occupy a play-offs position.

He will wait until the latest possible moment to make a decision on goalkeeper Matt Cooper’s involvement – the custodian was ruled out last Saturday after the warm-up with a thigh strain – with Stuart Plant, who made his first senior appearance last weekend, again on stand-by.

Jamie Harrison (foot) is out injured, but top scorer Shaun Tuck has trained this week for the first time since damaging ligaments in an ankle a month ago at Stocksbridge.

North Ferriby have picked up more points than anybody else from their past half dozen Premier Division games, winning five.

The Villagers’ record on the road is the best in the section too, with 10 wins from 13 away days, while nobody has scored more goals, or conceded fewer, away from their own pitch.

Their defeats away from east Yorkshire have been at clubs in the table’s top half.

Manager Billy Heath must decide whether to recall goalkeeper Adam Nicklin after he completed a suspension, while newcomer Oliver Banks is pushing for a first league start after hitting a hat-trick in a midweek cup win.
