FIGURATIVE sculptor Jack Barton returned to college with the aim of inspiring current art and design students to achieve their dreams.

The 23-year-old studied art and design at Mid Cheshire College from 2008 to 2010.

Jack said: “I have many fond memories of the college and of the great tutors.

“They helped and encouraged me to achieve my place at university.”

After leaving Mid Cheshire College, Jack, from Congleton, gained a place at Sheffield Hallam University to study fine art.

During his time at the university he spent a seven-month placement in Stockholm with the world-famous sculptor, Anders Krisar.

Jack spoke to the Mid-Cheshire College students of his experience during the four-year university course and of his time working with the highly-respected Swedish artist.

He told the students: “You need to put yourself out there and take all the opportunities which are offered to you. Never give up on your dreams.”

Jack’s dream came true when he was offered a full-time job with the Stockholm studio.

He will be designing and building sculptures which will be seen in galleries in London, Stockholm and Sweden and will be sold worldwide.
