DRAGON’S Den entrepreneur and TV personality Levi Roots was the VIP guest at Goostrey School’s 10th annual exhibition this week.

During his visit to the rainbow-themed display on Thursday, October 10, Levi sang and played the guitar and spoke to the children about the importance of healthy eating.

After the formal proceedings he signed autographs and had his photograph taken with children, staff and visitors.

Levi, who is the inspiration behind the Reggae Reggae brand of Caribbean sauces, backed by TV dragons Peter Jones and Richard Farleigh, visited Goostrey as part of his national School of Life Tour.

Headteacher Lyndsey Atkins said: “The whole school has been lifted by Levi’s visit.

“You could hear Reggae Reggae Sauce songs all around the school.

“Indeed, one child told me that this was the best day he has ever had.

“One member staff painted a picture of one of Levi’s sauce bottles and he has signed the canvass.

“We will now auction this off as part of our fund raising to bring children from our twinned school in South Africa to Goostrey next summer.

“Every year we have a major exhibition to which all the children contribute and the whole hall is a showcase for their work.

“We are delighted that so many members of the wider community have been in to school to see the exhibition.

“However, like a butterfly, beautiful and wonderful, it only survives for two days.”
