A Timperley couple’s prayers were answered last week when they won their dream wedding.
Melissa Mc Donald, 30, and Paul Moxon, 29, from Parkgate Road will tie the knot at Cranage Hall after winning a £10k wedding in our reader competition.
The couple, who have been together for four years, were nominated by Melissa’s cousin after a difficult year, which included her dad’s death.
Melissa, a tenant support officer who also cares for her disabled mum, said they were ‘over the moon’.
“It was more than just winning the wedding, it was like my dad
was looking down on us.
“We are so in love and it just seals it and gives us something positive to look forward to,” she said.
The couple got engaged just two weeks before Melissa’s dad’s death and when Paul asked him for permission he promised he would look after Melissa, her sister and their mum.
Paul, a mechanical engineer, said said Melissa was the love of his life and he wanted to give her the wedding she deserved.
“I have never seen someone be so strong and hold everything together for everyone like she has this year, she is an inspiration.
“There really is no other person I can see myself growing old with. I cannot imagine her not being in my life,” he said.
After being shortlisted, the couple attended the top 20 interview stage and were chosen to be in the final six where they faced a public phone in vote.
They are now busy planning their wedding, which will be held at the Grade II listed 17th century Cranage Hall.
