MEMBERS enjoyed a social evening at their recent meeting which included quizzes and a beetle drive.

It was a friendly, informal event which enabled several visitors to get to know everyone.

The speaker, Eric Newton spoke about his life as a busker.

He is a talented clarinettist and an entertaining speaker, and he shared his varied life experiences and played his favourite tunes and requests.

Tickets were distributed for the autumn council meeting on October 6, when Anne Diamond will be guest speaker.

Names were taken for a celebration of 100 years of WI at the Winsford Academy on October 22.

There will be a celebration service of 95 years of the Cheshire federation at Chester Cathedral on November 19.

Christmas lunch at the Riverside Inn is planned for December 2.

The next meeting is on October 14 at 7.15pm in the Sea Scout Hall. Ladies who want to keep fit with armchair aerobics are welcome.
