Warmingham & District WI by Maggie Hannon

At Warmingham WI’s most recent meeting Lynne Munden unveiled the mystery of how wonderful Chinese paintings are created. She demonstrated the skills and techniques involved and revealed just some of the history of this beautiful art. Lynne told how painting had evolved before Chinese calligraphy and there are different schools of painting. Like many sophisticated skills it all seemed quite straightforward as she demonstrated and explained. This was a testament to her mastery of the art and the many hours of training and practice she had devoted to it.

Warmingham members are able to attend a range of events and activities which continue to celebrate 100 years of WI. It’s also the time to restart the normal round of activities including the competitive ones like scrabble, draughts and quizzes.

How do mistakes in genes cause cancer?, is the theme for Warmingham WI’s next meeting on Wednesday, October 7. The answer/s to this question will be given by Professor Susan Andrew who is well qualified to do so. The meeting begins at 7.30pm and visitors are welcome.

Visitors are always welcome, without having to commit to joining. The meetings normally take place in Warmingham Village Hall CW11 3QN at 7.30 pm on the first Wednesday of each month.
